To diversify the program, we invite you to a theatrical performance. Just meters away from Art Gallery "Nikola Petrov" is the Drama Theatre ''Vida''. The beginning of the theatrical activity in Vidin was started in 1879 with the founding of the Vida Charitable Theatre Society. The first performances were presented in the so-called "People's Café" in the Bolyarska mahala. In 1887 an initiative theatre committee founded the Vida Theatre Building Fund, which raised funds for the construction of the theatre. In 1889 the municipal council provided a place for the construction of the theatre. Italian architects and builders took over the building of the theatre. The construction of the building was completed in 1891. The theatre building has an extensive lounge, ground floor, lounges and galleries, a large stage, an orchestra and a glazed roof. In the first half of 2020, conservation, restoration and exhibiting of Drama Theatre "Vida" is completed and its activities resumed.
