Multimedia Visitor Centre "Tsarevgrad Tarnov"

Within walking distance near the hill Tsarevets is the next site on our route - Multimedia Visitor Centre "Tsarevgrad Tarnov", also popular as a "museum of wax figures". The site provides tourists with information about historical figures and events in an extremely attractive way. Visitors can experience the rich history of the city as a symbol of royalty, military glory and spiritual power. Scenes from the Bulgarian Middle Ages and the grandeur of Tarnovgrad during the reign of Assenevtsi have been recreated. In the centre of two floors are located 29 sculptural figures and murals. The sculptor Boris Borisov is the author of the concept for presenting the historical figures included in the exhibition. The rulers Tsar Kaloyan and Tsar Ivan Asen II are represented. One of the most impressive scenes you can see in the multimedia centre is the capture of the Latin emperor Baldwin I of Flanders by the Bulgarian Tsar Kaloyan in 1205. Houses of ordinary people are presented in the form of reconstruction, as well as craft workshops for blacksmithing, pottery, masonry.
