It is time to depart from the old capital and head along the Yantra River to the town of Gorna Oryahovitsa. The town is the largest non-regional one in Northern Bulgaria and an important railway hub. In the centre of the town is the Art Gallery "Nedyalko Karaneshev". The gallery's fund includes works in sections of painting, graphics and sculpture. In the gallery you can see the paintings by Prof. Vasil Stoilov, Kalina Taseva, Prof. Ivan Petrov, Lilyana Ruseva, Prof. Iliya Petrov, Tsanko Petrov, Prof. Ivan Bochev; graphics by Prof. Nikola Hadzhitanev, Prof. Hristo Tsatsinov; sculptures of Prof. Nenko Marov, Angel Angelov, Prof. Motko Bumov and others. In 2009 the gallery began to bear the name of the famous Bulgarian artist Nedyalko Karaneshev, who was also the first founder of artistic provincial exhibitions in Bulgaria.
