We offer you the next site of our route to be the Regional Historical Museum – Pleven (RIM-Pleven). RIM-Pleven is located in an impressive two-storey building, built according to an Italian project in the period 1884-1888 for the needs of the army - for barracks. The building is a monument of culture of national importance. The fund of the museum began to be formed in 1903, when the Archaeological Society in the city created its collection, exhibited in 1923 in Chitalishte "Saglasie 1869". The museum became an independent institution in 1953 and was moved to the current building in 1984. The museum has an impressive fund of over 180000 pcs. museum valuables and offers its visitors the following collections:
- archaeology - representing the development and achievements of man during prehistory, antiquity and the Bulgarian Middle Ages;
- ethnography - representing traditional household and culture, basic livelihoods, folk clothing, urban bits;
- Renaissance - with exhibits from the time of ottoman rule, the national liberation movement, spiritual relics of high artistic value, etc.;
- nature,
- a new history (after the Liberation to the present day);
- numismatics and
- Gena Dimitrova - offering the story of the great opera singer, a collection of original costumes from her roles and performances and music cabinet.
